In Room 10 we love sharing our writing. Today we shared our descriptive application letters for the job in the South Pacific. We had to write a letter to a company saying we would like to apply for the job and the qualities we had to bring to it. We shared with a buddy and then a few people shared with the whole class. We then decided which applicants we thought had written great letters describing themselves.
Here are a few bits of our wonderful writing:
"I would like to apply for the job on the remote island for saving the quarter ton tortoises as there are only 98 left. I am strong so I would be able to move them to a safe spot." Hugh
"I am cunning, daring, I'm an animal lover, I have 56 animals at home and I know how to survive so I think I'll be qualified for this job." Imogen
"I am really really good with animals. I have a pet turtle at home so I'm used to turtles and I've always wanted to go to the Pacific." Polly
"I am magnificent at climbing trees and I'm a great survivor." Amelie
"I feel that I would be perfect for this job because I am caring for animals. I am quick so if a turtle needs help or a baby I can help them." Ava
"I am good at making treehouses so if I need to look after the turtles or heal them up I can take them up to the treehut." Millie
"I would like to apply for the job in the Pacific. I feel I would be perfect for this job because I adore animals." Georgie
"I am good at caring for animals." Poppy
"I can do 40 press-ups without stopping." Eve
What a talented class! You have so many skills you could share.
